Hank Skinner; Texas; Douglas Prade; Ohio: Pre-eminent criminal defence blogger Joe Gamso writes a masterful tale of "Two Murders, Two Cities, Too Little Regard For DNA," on the Mimesis Law (Fault Lines) Blog.

Next: David Eastman: Australia: Major Development: He has lost his bid to prevent a retrial for the alleged murder of a senior police officer. "Eastman was convicted in 1995, and sentenced to life behind bars, but was eventually freed in 2014, after serving 19 years in prison. His release came in the wake of an explosive inquiry, headed by former Northern Territory Chief Justice Brian Martin, which found serious flaws with the gunshot residue analysis used to link Eastman to the crime scene. The inquiry found the prosecution's star forensic witness, Victorian Robert Barnes, had made fundamental errors, overstated his findings, was biased to the prosecution, and resistant to having his work peer-reviewed."..." He alleged prosecutors had engaged in misconduct at his original trial, by allegedly concealing weaknesses in their forensic case from him." Reporter Christopher Knaus. The Canberra Times;

PUBLISHER'S NOTE: Occasionally I come across a post which defies synopsis, is beautifully written and  cries out to be read word by word. "Two Murders, Two Cities, Too Little Regard For DNA" by Joe Gamso, is  a case in point. So I will leave the reader to access the post at the link below,  subject to this comment: Hank Skinner and Doug Prade have been the subject of numerous posts on this Blog, because, as Gamso puts it,  we are dealing with two convicted killers and "a pretty fair chance that  neither actually killed anyone."  Sadly, there is also a fair chance that one of these two men will not be provided by their state with a fair chance to prove their innocence through the DNA technology now available to them. I challenge the reader two guess which of the two men this might be. Read on!
